For the second collumn when they started talking about how animals and crops can jeopordize a empires future or turn a village to a great empire. It really shocked me when I saw this because it made so much sense. It also changed my look on civilizations. I always thought all the really big ones wher mighty because they conquered other civilizations. It is partially right but farming and animals are way higher on the list of things to do list of a empire.

When I wrote this I thought about reading history books most of the big nations had been in war so I expected it to be something needed for empires until now...

When I wrote a mighty empire I meant a empire with a lot of land and a good economy. With the movie's theory I think that it is based on the peoples cordinateon and ways of working together and dividing jobs like taking care of animals or plowing fields. This can later lead to enough time to conquer and get a wide land mass like the ones in the middle east.

I think that a nation can conquer when they have enough people to stay at home. Also when they had enough food for some people to leave there farms and animals and take food with them. But I don't think that people should conquer unless they don't have enough land to live on. Otherwise it is a waste of time.

Fabian,

I like your thinking here. Reread your piece and you'll see how your thinking develops. Is your conclusion then, "those who have enough food surplus end up conquering others"?

What do you think about this? Shouldn't a civilization who "has enough food surplus" HELP others rather than conquer?

What do you think?

Before you publish your post, please spell check. You have great thinking, but it loses it's impact with spelling and grammatical errors.
